On December 8th, Tidal Commerce was officially inducted into the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The Elmhurst Chamber has long been on our periphery as an organization we respected and wanted to contribute to, and we were honored to join in the mission to help promote “an environment that creates the success for the local businesses and our community.”
Established in 1918, the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry is just shy of one hundred years of community building and serves over 600 member businesses, including not-for-profits & individuals.
By way of networking and referrals, business promotion, governmental activism, business education, and leadership building, the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce aims to foster honest and transparent business in the Elmhurst area and beyond, which are two values we pay particular attention to here at Tidal.
It’s Elmhurst Chamber tradition to have new members use a giant, golden pair of scissors to cut a light green ribbon on the day of their induction, and it’s easy to see why the tradition has stuck after all these years.
A group of Chamber “Ambassadors”, John Quigley (the chamber director), and a photographer orchestrate the fun photo-op — simultaneously offering jokes about scissor safety and genuine insight on how to best be served by and serve the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce.
It’s a light-hearted and entertaining way to memorialize our present and future commitment to the Elmhurst business community, and the photos help promote both our business & the Chamber itself — the first of many mutually beneficial business benefits to come.
They’re great people, and our experience has been wonderful so far.
